Leicester Uni Labour society kick off over Corbyn.

Leicester University Labour Society attack the showing of the Jeremy Corbyn film, The Big Lie, with lies of their own.
Right so the Jeremy Corbyn film The Big Lie is still apparently causing some faux outrage in some quarters it seems and the latest example centres around two showings of the film being put on by students at Leicester University on the 30th June, so this story goes back 2 weeks now. Now in this case the showings went ahead, well attended by all accounts, it was afterwards though that things took a darker turn and this seems to have come at the hands of the University of Leicester Labour Society the following day. They decided to issue a response to the showings of the film, which read: We are concerned that yesterday the University of Leicester Student Union advertised the film ‘Oh Jeremy Corbyn: The Big Lie.’ The film not only promotes antisemitic conspiracy theories that Corbyn was brought down by a ‘Jewish Lobby’, but defends individuals expelled from the Labour Party for antisemitism such as Chris Williamson. We messaged the student union about these concerns and we are happy to report they said this incident was now being investigated and that the student union condones the film – no that isn’t me misspeaking, hilariously they put condones instead of the intended condemns and didn’t notice it. I hope they aren’t studying English there – we are concerned that the film was advertised to begin with, however we are satisfied our concerns were answered promptly. Right, a fair bit to unpack from that aside from the appalling spelling, grammar and indeed chosen wording, they did eventually correct their quite funny error. For a start they were a day late. The showings had happened. Posters advertising it were put up around the university campus, the Uni Labour Society could have acted on this ahead of time. Still, the notion that the film is antisemitic is rampantly peddled, despite this not being the case. This was proven at the time it was meant to be shown at Glastonbury, when a lawyer threw out such notions. Thanks to the leanings of the likes of the Campaign Against Antisemitism on Glastonbury’s sponsors, it got pulled, but it still got shown numerous times at different sites around the festival. Anyway, any excuse to bash Corbyn as an appalling racist is opportunity enough for the CAA and they were quick to offer their praise, saying in a tweet that ‘it is only right that Leicester Students Union withdraw its support for the antisemitism-denial film ‘Oh, Jeremy Corbyn, The Big Lie after the University of Leicester Labour Society voiced concerns. We commend the decision to stand with the Jewish Community against such rank propaganda.’ Well they’d know all about rank. There is no reference to Jewish lobbies, there is no inference that antisemitism didn’t exist in the Labour Party.
