Jesse Cox was a counterintelligence (CI) agent in Delta Company 165th Military Intelligence Battalion in the mid 90's. He was part of the unit that Pete A Turner deployed with to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1996. At the time, D Co had 15 teams manned by CI agents and interrogators. The deployment was part of a great push to ensure the Dayton Peace Accords. As part of this multi-national taskforce, Jesse and his teammates worked to support the Polish forces.

1996 saw the dawn of the digital age in deployed arms. The Bosnia conflict deployment also was unique in that the entire Implementation force was lead by these 15 CI/Interrogator teams armed with soft sided HMMWVs, laptops and digital cameras. This deployment also saw the tactical implementation secure and nonsecure internet.
