The 72 HOUR FAST is the #1 PROTOCOL for FAT LOSS!
The 72 hour fast is the number one way to loss body fat! Most of us get on diets and struggle to lose weight. Either the cardio becomes too much, or the calorie restriction does. Why not torch the fat all in one go? When we engage in fasting, we take on no calories! Imagine a bath tub filled with water. The faucet is on, water is going into the tub. The drain is also open and water is flushing out. Well, what happens if we turn off the faucet? The water in the bath tub drains! This is certain! And the same is true for our bodies when we fast.
I have been doing Natural Bodybuilding in the Men's Physique division for years. And I as I approach my show dates, I always incorporate a 72 hour fast to either break through plateau's or in many cases, as the peak week protocol entirely. There is no better way to rid the body of excess water, body fat, and other nasty toxins that hold us back and slow us down.
But what if you are trying to put on muscle? Sadly, I would recommend holding off on fasting for now. While we fast, no new muscle can be grown. This is because we need protein as the building blocks for new muscle. It is true that we release growth hormone while fasting, but that doesn't mean we are actually growing. It means the body is fighting to hold on to the mass that it already has! To encourage this even further, I recommend very heavy weight lifting while fasting.
But how much can you burn in 24 hours? Well, if we combo up fasting with walking, we can burn a pound of fat per day! This will require anywhere between 12 and 15 miles of walking, but this is doable! By following this regimen we can guarantee a pound of fat burned per day! Not a bad deal!
