Psalm 97 sings out, “the LORD Reigns!” and give us the news in advance: Jesus Himself is about to make Himself known in many demonstrations not only of His great glory in acts of unparalleled judgement (justice for those who have served the gods of self, greed, deception, murder, lust, power, and hatred) but also in love, vindication, protection, healing and restoration for those who call Him Lord! This is a warning and a promise, not just pretty words. God is about to roar and thunder from the heavens and make it clear who really reigns over all of creation.
