I recently purchased the TETON Sports Deer Hunter Sleeping Bag and unfortunately, within just 24 hours of using it and packing it once, the bag split near the pocket.
I was wondering if it is possible to get a replacement for the bag or if I would have to return the entire thing. I must say that this sleeping bag is a great choice if you are looking for an affordable and warm option.
However, it is worth noting that it is quite bulky and heavy. This means that it may not be the most convenient bag for backpacking or packing it in tight spaces.
Personally, I find it perfect for winter camping in my canvas tent where weight and bulkiness are not major concerns. Once I am inside this sleeping bag, the outside temperature doesnt seem to matter.
Whether it is 40°F or as low as 6°F, I have never felt cold inside this bag. Although the official -35°F rating is meant for survival and not comfort, I have no doubt that it would keep me alive even in such extreme temperatures.
In fact, I can guarantee that you will feel warm and cozy in this bag down to at least 6°F. One thing I really appreciate about this sleeping bag is its breathability.
I have never experienced any condensation or water collection inside the bag, even in humid conditions. It reminds me of a traditional bedroll, but with the added comfort of a soft flannel lining.
The combination of warmth and breathability is truly impressive.
During my last camping trip, I woke up to find a layer of ice on my mustache, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was still warm inside the bag and it remained dry despite the freezing temperatures.
If you have the luxury of space and weight while traveling, I cant think of a better way to ensure a good nights sleep than with this TETON Sports Deer Hunter Sleeping Bag.
