North Korean state media have released a new video of their latest missile launch. The Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) flew for 74 minutes, reaching an altitude of 6,600km and landed in the sea 1,000km from its launch site as intended, according to North Korea’s Central News Agency (KCNA). North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was present for the launch, according to KCNA, but ultimately did not feature in the slickly-edited video.

The launch comes after Pyongyang threatened to retaliate against the United States over alleged spy plane incursions, which required the North Korean air force to intercept. Washington has denied the allegations.
