What's goin on Tac Army!? I'm Erick Benhardtson, your host for TMTV's Headbangers Ball!

One of the perks of joining the US Military is you get to see the world.

My big silly Norwegian 4th Point of Contact was stationed in Germany for 9 years. During those 9 years, I’d met some of the best men America’s mothers and fathers could send to defend our nation.

The summer months of Germany were amazing for us. We never spent time in the barracks, went all over Europe and other locations during a four-day weekend or a 4 for 10. What is 4 for 10 you ask? Well, take a 4-day weekend starting on a Friday and ends on a Monday. Well, what we would do is, take leave the following Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
That would take us through the weekend, and we would return for formation on Monday morning. Taking ¼ of the month off.

Now, granted, if one of us was on the duty roster, we’d be the one stuck back while the others were out on vacation. No free ride exists in the Army!

Using this formula though, we were able to see some great bands during Summer Festival Season all over Europe and other countries we'd use the Military Airlift Command to fly to. I will always love you, Iceland!

We went to so many festivals! Reading, Dynamo, Rock-im-Park, Rock-am-Ring, Berlin Deathfest, Munchen (Munich) Metalfest, Kings of Metal, Monsters of Rock just to name a few.

Great memories! With my BrothersfromotherMothers. Life in my 20s was great.

We know as GenX veterans that soldiers after us discovered the same diamond about taking leave in the Military. We know you, and our civilian counterparts love rock and metal.
What festivals did you attend during the Summer Festival Season. Here in the states, we’re afforded so many great bands booked on them.

This week's show is dedicated to all of you who pile in the rigs, share that sense of family when we go, and have a great time watching those bands onstage that we admire so much.

This week’s show, we want you to know we are debuting two independent artists. An American Hardcore act out of Troy, NY, (Fan request), and a Canadian Metalcore act out of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada.

And the others on this show, have headlined one of your favorite Summer Rock/Metal Festivals.

The Ball is a weekly show of the greatest heavy music we've all grown up with. I'm GenX. When I was a kid, Headbanger's Ball was our Saturday Night Party. Jean and leather jackets with all of favorite bands were worn proudly watching rock and metal videos in the 80's until MTV went and bent us over in '95. Leaving us with other shows that just weren't The Ball.

So, with that said, put on your best, get ready for the ruckus, tell your friend to hold your beer, get in that pit and lose your fuckin' mind! THIS IS...HEADBANGERS BALL!
