AT&T, Verizon: LEAD-SHEATHED cables "NOT a public-health issue;" EPA no where to be found

The Wall Street Journal uncovered a few days ago that AT&T and Verizon left at least 3000 lead-sheathed cables across the country, underwater, and underground. Lead is know to be extremely toxic to adults but especially for developing children. Incredibly, representatives of both companies claim THE SCIENCE SAYS lead sheathed cables are not a threat to workers or the environment... HUUUHHHH?
