Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade took casualties attacking the Russians. Troops stormed Russian defences to the south of Bakhmut. They dodged artillery shells as bullets whizzed just overhead. But two men were shot, including a machine gunner. The gunner kept firing as his comrade bandaged him up. A second man was shot in the leg inside a foxhole. He was also patched up and limped off the battlefield. Despite the wounds, the attack was successful. The 3rd Assault said 10 Russians were killed and 20 wounded. Five more were taken prisoner. The attack happened near the village of Klishchiivka. Ukraine claims to have captured high ground in the area. That will allow artillery to bombard the city of Bakhmut.
