All dogs, to some degree, are territorial. They live in a neighborhood, their home, but they also have a territory an area including your property, the yard. This is a territory that they will defend no matter what. Dogs can also, like migratory birds, have more than one territory, such as the inside of your car, or a neighbor’s house where they regularly visit, which they will defend.

Dogs will define an area where they live as territory and then defend it. They develop situations where they feel that guests intruders have come way too close without permission, so the barking and aggression is greater than what we want or expect. In this case, the intruder is a cow!

Bruiser, a little 5 pound Chihuahua, gives his best effort to make his presence known to the cows on the other side of the fence. Unfortunately, it doesn't exactly go according to plan. He tries to scare them out of his area and show them that he is the guard there, no has no luck. In the end, Bruiser got scared from the cows! That poor little buddy!

Chihuahuas are comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs. Though some are shy and others may tend to be nervous, the Chihuahua makes an exceptional family pet in households that can offer enough care and attention. They probably can’t offer protection and guard the home, but who needs that when you can have their love!
