If you are considering a double handle for the Rubias Airty LT2500, you cant go wrong with the SLP double handle + this knob! I use it for the DAIWA15 Rubias 2004.
The bearing is not included, so I purchased a separate handle knob S standard size, which is an inner diameter of 4mm, outer diameter of 7mm, and width of 2.5mm.
I also use the same product in silver, size M, for the Rubias 2508PE-H, and it fits perfectly. I installed it on the 17 Theory that I use for seabass fishing.
I think Daiwas general spinning knobs are lightweight and excellent, but I found them difficult to grip during fights.
Therefore, I previously tried installing slightly larger knobs from another company for better grip, but it significantly decreased the sensitivity in reeling.
The inertia moment of the handle seemed to increase. The weight of that knob alone was measured to be over 18 grams. In comparison, this knob is measured to be just under 8 grams.
It clearly improved the sensitivity in reeling. One of the great features of the 17 Theory is its sensitivity that rivals high-end reels, which comes from the lightweight (low inertia moment) rotor and handle.
It might not be necessary for jigging or vibrating-style fishing, but it is an important element for fishing with drifting-style lures like minnows and pencil baits, especially during night fishing when most of the information gathering is done through the handle in the darkness.
For those who appreciate the smooth reeling feeling of high-inertia rotors like Stella or Twin Power, it might not be necessary (even though you might miss the fine changes in current and bites...).
I recommend it to those who can understand that (although I personally feel that the sensitivity in reeling is slightly better with the normal knob, it is a bit difficult to grip during fights).
The grip of the knob is firm and non-slip, allowing for comfortable reeling! Also, the design is cool! Pros:
- Provides good balance when installed on medium-sized spinning reels.
- Easy to grip and turn. - Made of EVA material, so it does not become sticky over time. - Fits on both Shimano and Daiwa reels. - Reasonable price. Cons:
- Cannot be installed without bearings or spacers.
(I reused the bearings and spacers that came with other knobs)
The photos are of the Twin Power C3000HG by Shimano and the Certate 2500 by Daiwa with the knobs replaced to match the reel colors.
