It is Wednesday, July 12th, 2023. NATO curved Ukraine. Blackrock's CEO has Bitcoin in his mouth. And you're here with us on Law and Legitimacy. Welcome back to the initiated #LALiens among you. Welcome to the first-timers. Norm Pattis and Michael Boyer convene every weekday morning at 8:00am eastern to volley the essence of law and its intersection with our common conceptions of right in an increasingly stressed and frenetic western society. That is, what is law without a foundational sense of legitimacy?
.
Today's Agenda:
.
› Edward Lang v. the United States of America has been petitioned to the Supreme Court of the United States. Mike referenced Norm's involvement in an additional case with an additional defendant in cases arising out of the events of January 6, 2021, on the solo stream. On petition for certiorari, Norm joins Steve Metcalf in asking the Court to overturn an appellate court's breathtaking misapplication of a federal criminal statute against one Edward Lang. This is decidedly a case with major implications on the protections afforded every American citizen by and through the first amendment to the United States Constitution. Will the Court grant cert?
.
› Tucker on Twitter Ep. 9 debuted yesterday evening. Tucker Carlson's roughly 2 and-a-half hour interview with Andrew Tate is, as Mike describes, a meditation on the human essence. If one only makes it halfway through, one is still blessed with unvarnished analysis of due process and systems of justice, the "matrix" and the marriage between MSM and global influences, masculine essence and programmed depression, the male tendency to bond through suffering, tiers of government corruption, extreme ownership and accountability for self, racism and the division of lower classes along cosmetic lines, western malaise and unbridled immigration, and more. As of this stream, the interview has 37 million views in roughly 14 hours. Epic.
.
› The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, resigned after the Dutch government failed to reach an agreement that would have tightened immigration policy in a country that has seen a dramatic rise in migrant arrivals over the last several years. Is the Netherlands the canary in the metaphorical coal mine for the whole of the West?
