However, despite this, I was still able to make acceptable shots of espresso with the plastic tamp. In terms of appearance, the Mattinata Espresso Machine does not look cheap at all.
The stainless steel finish gives it a sleek and modern look. It also feels solid and sturdy, although I wouldnt want to drop it as it may bend. Considering its price range of $100-110, I believe this machine is a great buy.
I have been using Nespresso machines for over 12 years, and was considering spending $500 on a Breville espresso machine. However, I am so glad I found this little machine instead.
I opted for the model without the pressure gauge, as I didnt see the need to spend extra on it. The machine is automatic, so there is no way to regulate the pressure anyways.
The gauge would have just been for looks. When it comes to brewing, the Mattinata Espresso Machine performs as expected. The coffee that it brews tastes great, depending on the blend that you use.
It also heats up quickly, usually taking around 15-20 seconds to reach the desired temperature. The frothing wand on this machine functions well.
I havent had it for very long, so I cant speak to its long-term durability, but I am hoping to get a few years of use out of it with my 2-3 times a day usage.
Overall, I highly recommend the Mattinata Espresso Machine. I am currently using it with a cheap espresso blend (Bustelo Premium), and it has been making delicious coffee.
The price point is great and the machine itself is well-made and easy to use.
