DESCRIPTION
Oppenheimer was the director of the Manhattan nuclear weapons program during World War II. In addition to the activity obtained with the use of the atomic, Oppenheimer obtained results in other physics research, including the study of black holes and research. He devoted the rest of his life after developing the atomic bomb to activities to limit the proliferation of nuclear weapons. He was independent by the American government and services with links to the communist movement and espionage activities. In the 1950s, secret documents were accessed. along with President Kennedy in his Reconstruction Policy group. Oppenheimer is today recognized as one of the symbols of pacifism and opposition to nuclear proliferation.
