It sounds like a terrible joke, just waiting to be snatched by some dad with a terribly dry sense of humor, but it is not. In a scene that very closely resembles a safari, a herd of deer decided they should cross a road in the middle of a Polish countryside, right between two cars. No one was hurt though.

This dash cam footage managed to capture an intense moment that took place on an outback road in Poland. Watch as a herd of deer race across the road at an unbelievable speed, narrowly missing the vehicle. If you don’t pay close enough attention, you might just miss the first female darting for the road from the left-hand side of the screen. Unfortunately, we don’t understand Polish, so we can’t tell you if the driver noticed the wild animals running straight for the spot where his car almost passed. He did stop the vehicle on time, sooner even, to let the herd meet their destination safe and sound, without a scratch on them or his car.

Luckily for this driver, he saw the does approaching from afar and managed to hit the brakes just in time for the herd to pass. A close call, but still a glorious sight!

The number of automobile collisions with deer count among the millions. In the USA alone there are over 1.5 million accidents a year involving deer on the highway, causing massive damages and taking a great toll on human life.
