Replacing the missing strap on a Mercedes Benz 300TD - W123 Wagon spare tire cover

A quick Sunday project to repair the missing strap on the floppy spare tire cover of my 1985 Mercedes wagon. I used a scrap piece of leather (the handle from a Duckfeet boot box), and some snaps from an Amazon kit.
