Congressman Matt Gaetz Introduces Critical Amendments To The NDAA

Today I spoke in support of my amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) before the House Rules Committee. Here are some of the critical amendments I introduced:

-Female service members are reporting record instances of biological men/transgenders using showers and locker rooms designated for females only. My amendment will make clear that folks on military installations can only use certain facilities if it reflects their biological gender.

-Ban the military from using taxpayer dollars to fund any and all gender mutilation surgeries.

-Prohibit the Department of Defense from considering a state’s abortion law as a determining factor for any unit or base relocation order.

-End ALL funding for “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) indoctrination in the U.S. Armed Forces.

-Give Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin 180 days to reinstate all service members, who refused the COVID-19 vaccine, with the restoration of their pay and rank, including a $15,000 hardship bonus as a consequence of the military’s terrible COVID policy.

-The Department of Defense currently funds a domestic entity, similar to DHS’s failed Ministry of Truth, that tries to dictate what content online is true or false, including free speech by members of Congress. My amendment will abolish the funding for this program and refocus DOD on its core mission: defending the country.

-I do not believe we should be testing for cannabis for people who want to join the military. We should embrace them for stepping up to serve our country. My amendment will rectify this policy.

-Strip ALL military aid for Ukraine outlined in the National Defense Authorization Act.

-Establish a certification status by Secretary Lloyd Austin to ensure end-use monitoring (audits of munitions transfers) regarding Ukraine aid is occurring.

-Stops the exportation of cluster bombs, a bipartisan amendment introduced by Rep. Sara Jacobs.
