In case you didn't know, giraffes are the tallest animal on the planet, we kid you not! Most certainly, the tallest animals on the planet are having the tallest babies on the planet! A newborn baby giraffe, also called a calf, can stand somewhere between 5.5 and 6.5 feet tall, which is almost as tall as a regular person. Can you imagine what it would be like to bottle-feed a baby giraffe?
Melmin the baby giraffe was rescued from a game reserve after her mother gave birth but then rejected her. It took a week for her to learn how to drink from a bottle, but eventually she caught on. Melmin is now very sweet and loves giving everyone lots of kisses. Notice that even as a baby you have to reach up as high as you can to feed her!
