11.07.23 - The head of the Defence Ministry inspected the implementation of the state defence order at enterprises located in the Republic of Tatarstan during his work in the Central Military District on Tuesday.

▫️ Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu together with the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited Remdiesel company, which carries out overhaul and modernisation, installation and assembly of weapons and military hardware, as well as the KAMAZ Automobile Plant, which produces trucks. At Remdizel, the Minister inspected various samples of armoured vehicles, in particular, KAMAZs with armoured cabs, Linza special medical vehicle, as well as a line for upgrading MT-LB multipurpose armoured personnel carriers.

In addition, the Russian Minister of Defence and the Head of Tatarstan visited Kazan Optical-Mechanical Plant.

▫️ This enterprise produces day observation optics, night vision devices, multifunctional laser rangefinders and thermal imaging reconnaissance devices. The Minister was presented with the samples supplied to the troops under the state defence order, as well as promising developments.

▫️ The Russian Minister of Defence was also shown an upgraded Mi-24 helicopter with an increased range of target detection and identification and improved accuracy in the use of weapons of mass destruction.

▫️ On Tuesday, the head of the defence ministry inspected Kazan Aircraft Production Association, which produces Tu-160 strategic missile carriers, their repair, and also upgrades Tu-22M3 long-range bombers.
