East Elfers Cemetery New Port Richey FL. This is Cal O'Ween !

Today we are headed to New Port Richey to visit the East Elfers Cemetery. Established in 1884, this Cemetery has a bit of a dark history. It is a Pioneer perpetual care Cemetery, but has fallen into decline since the Asbury United Methodist Church and the Church responsible for the fund for the maintenance of the cemetery closed. Historic reports claim that there has been no accurate survey performed showing where burials are, no accurate count of existing graves , or how many vacant plots still exist to be sold. Although the perpetual care trust began in 1978, payments from the trust do not cover expenses. The Cemetery is currently looking for family members of those laid to rest here to start a volunteer effort to save the Cemetery. For more information, visit eastelferscemetery.org
