Posted On July 11, 2023 A rock climber fell to her death while free solo climbing in Rocky Mountain National Park on July 9. A park release said a 26-year-old female from Boulder died after falling approximately 500 feet while climbing on Ypsilon Mountain’s Four Aces of Blitzen Ridge, which is about 10 miles northwest of Estes Park in the northcentral area of the park. Free solo climbing is when an individual climber climbs without ropes or other protective equipment.
