India's Pariah Dog, the dominant village breed in plains areas, is thought to be a descendant of an early Chinese immigrant according to Peter Savolainen, a professor of evolutionary genetics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. However the place of origin has not been determined so far.
