Hollywood star Margot Robbie has come alive as Barbie in the latest trailer of Greta Gerwig directorial of the same name. The film also stars a number of other familiar actors and stars, including Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu as the Ken dolls.

The clip sees some healthy, comical banter between a variety of Kens, as different versions of Barbie greet each other. Those who grew up around the dolls or played with them as children might get a little nostalgic, as Gerwig brings in not only Barbie’s pink car, but her hairstyles and her roller blades into the picture too.
While it may seem ridiculous and far-fetched to make a Barbie movie, it is also perhaps this intrigue that will end up drawing the audience to cinemas ultimately. So far, we know very little about the plot of the feature, except that it stars celebrities such as Dua Lipa, Emma Mackey, and Kate McKinnon among others in pivotal roles.
The one-line synopsis with which the Barbie trailer was shared online reads, “To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.” Fans seems excited about watching the feature as one of them commented, “This looks like it will be fun. They’re going for the whole ‘a child is playing with them’ route with them, hitting all of the meta points then they end up in the ‘real world,’ which can either be fun or an overdone mess, so I’m interested where they’re going to take it.” Another person wrote, “Are we all in agreement that this looks so much better than anyone thought it possibly would/could be? I’m legit excited to see this!”
