I have tested plenty of desk lamps very similar to this one, this is slightly larger than most and offers five rather than the usual three types of white light and has a USB charging port for external devices.

The design itself follows the usual pattern – plain white plastic construction, USB powered with a fully folding light panel and stand. The light panel is 28.3 cm long with the upright part of the stand 32.5 cm tall and the padded base 12 x 16.2 cm. It features three large and well marked touch buttons on the base, the left button for 15 – 100% stepless light dimming, the centre one to power off and on, and the right hand one to scroll through the five white light variations: 2800-6000°K. The light ranges from a cool daylight white to a very warm almost yellow white and is blue filtered to protect the eyes. The lamp will remember the last lighting setting used and default to it next time it is switched on.

The 336g lamp is flexible and can be folded flat for storage. The lamp head can be rotated by 180° and the lamp post can be folded by 90°. It seems pretty stable in most positions when assembled with small lugs on the base to reduce slipping.

It has a USB-C input port and can be powered from any USB port of 5v/2A capacity. A USB cable is included but no adapter, which is a pity as not all adapters can give the full 2A current needed. I was pleased to see that an up to date USB-C interface has been used which shows that the light is of recent design. Next to the USB-C port is a standard USB-A port which outputs a modest 5v/1A to power or charge external devices.

This a simple but attractive lamp, versatile and easy to use with an above average range of lighting options. For the £17.99 pre-discount price, it's rather a good buy.
