I am absolutely in love with the SOG Small Fixed Blade Knife - Instinct Boot Knife! It is an amazing knife that comes with a 2.3-inch full tang blade and a knife sheath, which makes carrying it easy and safe.
And the best part? You can carry it in several different ways, which suits my requirements perfectly! One thing that caught my attention right out of the box was the strength of the pocket/belt clip.
It is sturdy and can be changed from one side to another with different angles, which enhances its versatility. I am always on the lookout for knives that offer flexibility, and this one has it all.
While the knife was moderately sharpened out of the box, it was nothing a stone could not fix. A few passes on the stone, and the blade was razor sharp, perfect for my needs.
It fits snugly into my high top boot, making it easy to carry while Im on the move. I have read many reviews about this knife, and one common complaint was that it was delivered late.
But honestly, I dont care about that. A days delay doesnt make a huge difference, especially when you have the perfect product in your hands.
Initially, I was on the fence about buying this knife for work, but after reading some good reviews, I decided to give it a try.
However, I also read some negative reviews, with people saying that the knife arrived "butter knife sharp." I strongly disagree – the blade was much sharper than a butter knife, although it did cut through the cardboard box with ease.
Another complaint I read was about the clip getting caught when putting it on and the 360-clip unscrewing and falling off when rotated. While I did experience some issues with the clip, it was nothing that couldnt be fixed.
With a little bit of effort and an Allen key, I was able to rotate the clip to my desired position and tighten the screw. Additionally, the clip is reversible by unscrewing it completely and swapping it to either side – its ambidextrous!
The only negative thing I would say is that the clip is made for a wide and thicker belt, which did make it wiggle a bit when attached to mine. However, this can easily be remedied the next time I am in the market for a new belt.
Overall, I am highly impressed with the SOG Small Fixed Blade Knife - Instinct Boot Knife. It is a sleek and versatile knife that can be carried in multiple ways, making it perfect for every occasion.
