Voice actress Erica Lindbeck, who is known for her roles as Emira Blight from The Owl House, Loona from Helluva Boss, and Futaba Sakura from Persona 5, has deleted her social media accounts after people were attacking her online for going against the idea of using AI voices for voice acting in media productions that includes TV shows.
Her fellow co-star from The Owl House, Cissy Jones, who does the role of Lilith Clwthorn supported the idea of using AI technology for doing VA in media productions.
Meta creator Mark Zuckerberg is pushing the idea for using AI in business and media.
While some people may be on board with this idea, it cancels out the reason why people signed up for doing VA roles, and it's a lack of effort to doing VA. It doesn't mean anything anymore, and it cancels peoples' acting careers.
Erica's viewpoint on not using AI when it comes to doing VA should be respected, and those who attacked her online should be ashamed.
Seems like AI is doing more harm than good.
