Australian Commuters Tilt Train To Free Man's Leg
This is incredible. On August 6th, 2014, a man slipped while trying to board a train, and his leg got stuck between a platform and carriage. CCTV footage was able to capture this whole event at Perth railway station in Australia. At first, there were not a lot of people in this general area, but as more people noticed the man who was stuck, they all joined in to try and help him remove his leg from between the platform and carriage.
There was no success for quite a while; the man's leg would not budge. As more people decided to show up, they decided to try and push the train all at once instead of trying to get his leg unstuck by pulling on him. All at once, everyone started to push the train, and slowly the man was able to free himself from the horrible position he was in. After he was saved, everyone happy to see he was going to be okay. It is so lovely to see these heroic acts from people. There will always be people who want to help, and this is shown through kind actions like this one.
Transperth spokesman David Hynes said the man was boarding at the tail end of peak hour, but the train was still fairly busy. "He stood in the doorway, and as he was taking up his position there, one leg slipped outside the door, slipped outside the gap, and he was stuck," he said.
"We alerted the driver, made sure the train didn't move. "Then our staff who were there at the time got the passengers, and there were lots of them, off the train, and organized them to sort of rock, tilt the train backward away from the platform, so they were able to get him out and rescue him."
They also called an ambulance, but luckily the man that was trapped did not have any injuries, so there was no need for him to go to the hospital. The man was so happy and also amazed by the action that the passengers and the staff did to help him. He will be forever grateful to them. It was the power of the people that support him from suffering from serious injuries!
