The US Defense Department confirmed that a leader of the Islamic State, Usamah al-Muhajir, was killed in a drone strike in the Aleppo province of Syria. An official reported that al-Muhajir was riding a motorbike when he was taken out by MQ-9 Reaper drones. This attack took place only a few hours after US drones had been approached and harassed by Russian military aircraft.
