Prepper Pantry: Breakfast for a Year for Less Than $20

Don't let the lack of money be a limiting factor in your ability to build your food storage. This week I went to WinCo and picked up rolled oats and steel cut oats for $14.45 for a 25-pound bag. That is about 5 cents per serving. You can eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast every day for an entire year for less than $20.

You may not be a fan of oatmeal for breakfast every day but it is highly nutritious and will keep your tummy full. It also requires very little fuel to cook. Oatmeal is a definite winner for eating on a budget. It is also a fantastic dry good to keep in both your short term and long term food storage.
