Food Storage: Freeze Dried Pineapple

Freeze-dried pineapple has got to be one of my favorite snacks. We purchase the pineapple on sale, let it ripen to perfection, and then cut it up and put it in the freezer on trays. Once it is frozen, we put it in the freeze dryer and package it for long term storage. We can expect at least a 20-year shelf life if we can leave it alone that long.

Another great way to preserve pineapple is to bottle it. See how much fun we had bottling pineapple at:

We recently discovered the perfect Mylar bags for packaging freeze-dried foods. You can get the gusseted Mylar bags with a ziplock seal on Amazon at https://amzn.to/3olnezS. These are high quality 7 mil bags.

Thanks for being part of the solution!
