Food Storage: Freeze Dried Shredded Cheeses

I'm a cheese lover so I couldn't wait to try freeze-drying a few of our favorite shredded cheeses. Parmesan, cheddar, cheddar jack, and mozzarella each freeze-dried really well in a day or less.

We lived off our garden produce and food storage for 3 months. Check out the playlist of our journey and what we learned. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtNB2WBBVNWlzIzgrSqBMd5tPyGVaWJR7

We recently discovered the perfect Mylar bags for packaging freeze-dried foods. You can get the gusseted Mylar bags with a ziplock seal on Amazon at https://amzn.to/3olnezS. These are high-quality 7 mil bags.

Recipe for my favorite pizza dough.

2 cups white flour (start with a cup and add more to the right consistency)
1 Tablespoon instant yeast
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pizza seasoning
2 teaspoons honey
2 Tablespoons olive oil
3/4 cup hot water

Mix all ingredients together and knead for 4 to 5 minutes. The dough should be soft, almost sticky. Roll out dough and place in a pizza pan. Add sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake at 425 degrees until perfectly golden brown.

Enjoy!

Thanks for being part of the solution!
