Killer temperatures in the West and heavy rains in the East dominated the news over the weekend. Overnight, the rain was so heavy in New York that West Point was flooded. Photos showed muddy water over the tops of cars.

New York City Police have arrested the so-called Scooter Shooter after he was videoed taking pot shots at pedestrians. In one horrific case, he shot at an 86-year-old man who was simply walking around. He later died.

President Biden is joining NATO allies this week where the top issues are likely to be the U.S. supply of cluster munitions to Kiev and Ukraine’s effort to join the alliance. Biden is against that for now.

And baseball history was made Sunday when the top two draft picks came from the same school, Louisiana State University. So did the Number 4 pick.
