Today we read about the garrisoning demoniac’s and the reaction of the townspeople when the men were healed of their demons and all of the pigs that were being raised were lost into the sea.. How are we to understand the reaction? It’s not so different than things that we do. To understand why they asked our Lord to leave, we go to the reading yesterday, where the Lord was answering the Jewish elite who were upset that he had called Matthew the tax collector to be a disciple. The Lord told them a command (this is also a command to us since every instruction the Lord gave us a command to everyone): “… All…” Mat 9:13. Obeying this commands the key to living a salvific Christian life.
