Ground footage of an airplane getting struck by a powerful lightening bolt was taken while it was preparing for a landing. From the ground, this looks very frightening, imagine actually being inside the plane. Luckily, there will only be a loud sound when lightening hits a plane. Nothing too extreme should happen as the plane has lightening protection engineered into the air craft. Even though it doesn't look like it, being in a plane is probably safer than being outside on the ground!
