The Dothan Police Department is aware of the circling rumors that are on social media about marking on cars for sex-traffickers. These rumors are just that, rumors. Most of the time traffickers are using computers or it is someone they already know or peer to peer. It is very rare for them to prey on a strangers. The Dothan Police have no cases of suspected sex trafficking at this time. The more the story circulates on social media, the more criminals and pranksters will try and to induce fear by marking other vehicles. The Dothan Police Department has made contact with the Alabama Fusion Center and their national experts on sex-trafficking called this an “urban legend.” The Dothan Police Department would have issued warnings if there was any merit to these claims.

Durham Regional Police say the Human Trafficking Unit began an investigation last month after a 23-year-old woman came forward, claiming she was procured by the accused to work for him as an escort in the sex trade.

Gary JEFFRIES, age 32, of Oshawa is charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Access Child Pornography and Breach Order from a Sexual Offence Conviction

Malcolm MACNEIL, age 66, of Oshawa has been charged with Sexual Assault on Person Under 16 x7, Sexual Interference with Person Under 16 x6, Invitation to Sexual Touching x3, Forcible Confinement, Gross Indecency, Assault with a Weapon and Assault x2.

He was released on an Undertaking.

Investigators want to ensure there are no further victims. Anyone with information in relation to the accused is asked to contact police as soon as possible.
