This is the second game of the fifth 1834 unofficial world chess championship match between Louis-Charles Mahé de La Bourdonnais and Alexander McDonnell.

The first game was a draw, so they reset and try again, keeping the same coloured pieces.
They play the Evans Gambit opening once more, but quickly move into territory where nobody has ever gone before.

Today's guest commentator has some interesting ideas about what's going on, but nobody ever seems to want to believe her!
