“Where is the Source of Truth?”
13th In our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. The Laws of the Universe were established by God - Romans 1:25-26
* A. When the lawless become “law enforcement”
* B. Those who aid and abet the abomination - Romans 1:32
* C. The beginning of knowledge - Proverbs 1:7

II. Jesus is Truth - John 14:6
* A. Jesus is the Living Word of God
* B. The Bible is the written Word of God - 2 Peter 1:16-18
* 1. Peter’s record in 1 & 2 Peter as well as the Gospel of Mark are eyewitness accounts of the events recorded
* 2. The most powerful witness to the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ was the Transfiguration
* C. The most powerful witness to the supernatural nature of the Bible is fulfilled prophecies (more that 1000 to date) 2 Peter 1:19
* 1. The Transfiguration fulfilled multiple prophecies
* a. A prophet like unto Moses - Deuteronomy 18:15
* b. A cloud covered the mountain - Exodus 24:15

* 2. The fulfillments are so specific they are to the point of human impossibility - Ezekiel 26:3-5, 12 
* a. Nebuchadnezzar began the fulfillment 574 BC
* b. Alexander the Great completed in 332 BC 
* D. The Written Word of God is the source of Truth
* 1. It has given us the Prophetic Word confirmed
* 2. The Bible itself is a most secure prophetic word
* a. The wise will heed and learn the fear of the Lord from the Word of the Lord
* b. It’s practical application is for all of life - James 1:2-5
