Thousands without power in New Jersey following electric substation fire

Thousands of customers in the Wildwood, New Jersey area were without electricity after a substation fire caused a power outage on Friday, July 7th, local media reported. Atlantic City Electric said more than 24,000 customers were initially impacted, but later added that approximately 15,000 of those had power restored as of Friday evening. The company said the outage was caused by a fire at their Lake Avenue electric substation in Wildwood.
