Can be a little bit tricky but if you follow some of these steps. It should make your draw stroke pretty easy so you do have the opportunity to take your retention straps off you don't have to use them while you're in the car.

I have them on right now I've trained with the VNSH whole stir so i know how to use it and i keep my retention straps on in the vehicle very easy to remove the thumb strap with my thumb.
