No matter how beautiful, adorned, and lovely a creature is that brings joy to the heart of man, it does not satisfy it. The world with its manifold goods is indeed loved by the heart, but the heart does not set its satisfaction in these. The more a man who is inclined toward earthly things sees before himself, the more he desires to see. All those things that are not God cannot give enough for the man who loves them and cannot bring perfect rest.
