Biden defends supplying Ukraine with controversial cluster munitions

In an interview with CNN reporter Fareed Zakaria Friday, President Joe Biden explained the deciding factors that led him to provide Ukraine with cluster munitions for its counteroffensive against Russia. Cluster munitions are banned by an international treaty signed by over 120 countries and are categorized as a weapon containing multiple explosive bomblets, called submunitions. “This is a war relating to munitions,” said Biden.
