DOJ investigations into Trump have cost more than $9.2 million

Statements of expenditures released by the Justice Department Friday revealed that Special Counsel Jack Smith spent more than $5.4 million in his two investigations into Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and the former president’s involvement with the January 6 Capitol riot. Other components within the Justice Department have spent $3.8 million to support Smith in his investigations, bringing the total to more than $9.2 million.
