Open Your Eye Show Ep82- Kim and Tarra have the week off, so we are bringing you a replay of the premier episode for 2023 with a very special guest. Patient advocate Alison Myrden joins us for a chat about her journey with natural therapy

Alison Myrden is a 59-year-old woman, a retired Corrections Officer and one of Canada’s first Legal medical cannabis patients under section 56. Back in 1994 she was granted her right to grow cannabis for the indication of chronic progressive multiple sclerosis
Alison turned to cannabis as her medicine in the early 1990’s because the 32 pills a day, two thousand milligrams of morphine a day, heroin AND cocaine the Doctors were giving her for almost two decades previously were far too much for her and her body.
In June 2014 Alison's Legal cannabis garden was taken down illegally in Burford, Ontario, Canada by the Brant County OPP, ending her supply of cannabis as medicine abruptly. Her legal grower at that time, a former Police Officer, had all charges stayed on Alison and another patient involved. They hoped to resolve the matter legally by bringing the authorities the proper documentation. She continued to encounter problem with her legal grows, with another raid and chopping of her garden again in 2018, again she had to fight for her legal right to grow. Alison has been a leader for patient rights to natural therapy for decades, and that drive now includes psychedelic medicine
In 2021, Alison once again applied for her section 56 exemption, this time for psilocybin mushrooms. With a team of lawyers, Jack Lloyd, Paul Lewin & Henria Stephens application was made to health Canada for Alison to carry, consume and grow her own supply of psychedelics to deal with the debilitating health issues that have plagued her life. Alison joined us with the lawyers back in September 2021 & is back for an update on her quest for natural therapy
