Defensive Site? Or Signaling Tower? You decide!

From a beautiful place to camp, we hiked to the "Pueblitos of Dinétah" (Simon Canyon Ruin Navaho Defensive site) in NW New Mexico to see the tower built by the Navaho. Is it a "defensive site" or is it a signaling tower? Your guess is as good as the archeologists and we'd like to see your comment. Oh! We had our rear brakes fixed in Albuquerque and it went just fine, with the price being fair.
