Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds is a multi-album based on H.G. Wells' classic science fiction novel "The War Of The Worlds", the story follows a writer's experiences as an invading army of Tripods from the Planet Mars conquers South England, during the late nineteenth century. The musical is an absolutely spectacular re-imagining of the book's classic story bringing its own iconic and catchy tracks and songs.

It's time for The Martian Cylinder embedded in the earth to open, unveiling to the world, the horrific sight of a grotesque extraterrestrial Martian which overtime escalates into the declaration of war between mankind and Martian... This is the second of many more chapters to come. Also, if anyone familiar enough with WOTW wants to know-- yes, the green smoke is supposed to be the green vapour that frequently puffs out of the cylinder while the Martians are activating the Heat Ray and constructing their fighting machines.
