The response I got from Shockflo regarding the issue I had...
"Okay so here's the full response from the product manager:
The certification image given previously is the certification of our output cable and connector, but the input section (a short section of cable, the early design was not designed according to UL standards)
[Reference standard UL508 SECTION 110, overload test requirements: the rated current of all wires must reach 125% of the maximum current reached, and for other component loads, at least 100%;]
The cable requirements for 32A and 40A in the actual UL standard will be more stringent, the actual rated current load capacity of 10AWG reaches 40A, and the actual rated current load capacity of 9AGW reaches 50A;
So, please rest assured that when our products are actually used at 40A, they are in line with the load capacity of the wires, but I am really sorry that the incoming wires of our products were not designed according to the strict requirements of UL in the early stage of design. The design is based on 100% of the rated current; the outlet is designed based on 125% of the rated current; currently our new version is applying for ETL certification, and the input cable has been adjusted and modified according to 125%."

My response to that is: 10ga wire can handle 40amps @90°C/194°F! but the device states clearly that the max operation temperature is 122°F. I am glad they are changing the wire size and getting it safety certified.
This charge cable looks good and feels quality but I recommend if you have this cable to keep the charge rate under 30amps. If they change the wire size and get it certified then It could be a good choice.
