The Ministry of External Affairs sought firm action by countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. against Khalistani radicals. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said freedom of expression shouldn’t be misused to propagate separatism and legitimise terrorism, as pro-Khalistan groups are conducting campaigns to incite violence against Indian diplomats and missions. A poster campaign by banned Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) in Australia, Canada, the US, and the UK has called for a kill India' rally to target Indian diplomats and missions on July 8 in these four countries. Bagchi said that the safety of Indian diplomats is of the utmost priority to the government.
