Three days later, a second bombing run occurred, obliterating a residential neighborhood in Nagasaki, resulting in high casualties.

These bombings marked the first & only time atomic bombs were used in warfare, & they played a significant role in ending World War II. However, questions arise as to why these particular cities were chosen. Despite not being major centers like Tokyo or Osaka and lacking significant war industry, the reasoning behind their selection is rather grim.
