Imp Pear is a member of the Ail-Mint family.
Imp Pear costs 0 Sun. That's not a misprint - Imp Pear is FREE!
When eaten by a normal zombie, that zombie will be transformed into an Imp.
When eaten by an Imp zombie, the Imp will be defeated.
Imps defeated this way will expel a stunning gas. The same effect as Chili Bean.
When given plant food, Imp Pear will transform or defeat five (5) zombies. (+1 per level.)Show more

The Good:
Costs 0 Sun. Free plants are always worth a look
Fast recharge. Five (5) second recharging plant which costs 0 Sun - definitely take a look.
Good plant food effect.
Great in the early parts of a level.
Good for spot elimination of high health normal sized zombies.

The Bad:
Need two (2) of them to eliminate a single zombie.
Only affects a single zombie at a time.
This plant can require a lot of the player's attention. Micromanaging can be a problem.

Commentary:
At first glance, this does not seem too impressive of a plant. Two (2) plantings to eliminate a single zombie doesn't sound great - even at 0 Sun - just because of the planting motion the player needs to do.
Once the player gets used to this plant, Imp Pear is simply amazing.
This plant has great synergy with Draftodil - blows Imps off the lawn.
The plant synergies well with Shrinking Violet - shrinks Imps into oblivion.
Boosterama Arenas and levels with plenty of plant food can run Imp Pear by itself.

Bottom Line:
GET THIS PLANT!
This is one of the BEST plants in the game. There is simply no reason to get this plant. There is no reason not to promote this plant.

This is a particularly difficult Penny's Pursuit this week. Do not fret if you are unable to clear these levels at maximum difficulty.

Plant lots of Shine vine and primal sunflower and peashooter. Explode-o-nut for spot removal.

Level 2 - Difficulty 🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Bonus 1 of 2
Survive for 3 minutes.
Chosen Perk is Primal Potato Mine.
Defeat Z-Mech 1 / 2 / 3 Time(s).
Destroy not offered / 10 / 15 Gravestones.
Special Delivery. Hypnotize zombies seems like it may work.

Level 3 - Difficulty 🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Bonus 2 of 2
Survive the zombie attack.
Chosen Perk is Hypnotize Zombies.
Don't lose more than 20 / 15 / 10 plants.
Spend no more than not offered / 8,000 / 7,000 Sun.
