Filmed 7/5/2023 at Tigertail Beach, in Marco Island, FL. Finally!! This was a bucket list item for me and a seminal moment in my life. There was twice during this walk, where the moon cut through the clouds and shined the light to the north on the beach. That was the main reason why I kept going. I had planned originally to do the burrowing owls, which I did in the neighborhood, and then filming the storm. We were watching from the fireworks. I was going from South Marco, Beach, Winterberry, and then home to bed. Instead, I walked 21,223 steps after midnight before I saw this beautiful creature. I picked up a ton of debris in the high tide line on my walk last night, and filled in lots of holes. It took me forever. I was completely exhausted. I walked all the way from my house to the part of Tigertail beach that almost reaches where the lagoon spills out. I message my wife around 3:30 AM last night telling her that I wouldn’t be able to walk back, and to please pick me up before she left for her appointment in the morning. That I was going to put my SoundCloud blanket down and sleep for a few hours and then hopefully wake up before the sun rose to catch turtles hatching. I then told myself find a nice part of the beach because over there there wasn’t really a place to lay down yet. I was looking for to sea turtle nest that I could position myself in between, and then I was going to go to sleep for a little while, or if I saw another set of turtle tracks, I had seen 4 already. When I saw the turtle nest, I was like yes I want to put my blanket down there even if there isn’t too, but I still looked ahead to see if there was a second. That’s when I spotted this beauty. Praise Jesus thank you father! I also want to give a special thanks to blackbettyog for giving me insight and a great tip on how to find them. I also want to show some love to TJ Thomson he gave me some advice. I did take your tips. I never saw any but I was doing what you told me. I can’t thank you both enough, and for what you do for wildlife in Florida. This is what you missed out on TikTok. Thanks for the unjust ban. God sees you and he raised you a loggerhead mama. You can catch the two live streams. I did on YouTube watching this beauty, especially the second when she returns to the sea.
